 ~RWAF~ ( Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund )

One of Britain's largest organisation for rabbit lovers!

The RWAF has existed since 1996 and is the combined effort of the Rabbit Welfare Association and its charity partner, the Rabbit Welfare Fund, working to improve the lives of domestic rabbits across the UK through education and communication by making people realise that rabbits are intelligent creatures that need space, exercise, companionship and stimulation and are not to be bought on a whim.

Sadly, despite being the third most popular pets in Britain, rabbits are still one of the most neglected domestic animals.

A huge proportion of rabbits live out their days in a small hutch with little or no exercise, or are unwanted and discarded onto rescue centres that are already bursting at the seams. Most cases of cruelty and neglect towards rabbits are out of ignorance; people often don't realise they are doing anything wrong because they haven’t done enough research into rabbit care and wellbeing before choosing to buy a pet rabbit.

As well as being an animal welfare agency, the RWAF also offers members the support needed to give their rabbits the best lives possible and have a huge wealth of experience to share with you.

They firmly believe that Rabbits Deserve Better

 ~MMC ( Make Mine Chocolate )~

The Make Mine Chocolate! UK campaign (also known as MMC for brevity!) has one key aim:

To stop the impulse acquisition of rabbits.
Rabbits are a big commitment; buying on impulse is often a long term mistake.

Within the MMC campaign remit, there are many other avenues the campaign team are working on. All are designed to work together to support the key campaign mission:

 ~Action for Rabbits~

was set up in March 2013. They are a non profit making organisation.

They are pro-rescue and promote the work of rabbit rescues and work with them to try and reduce the overwhelming number of rabbits in rescue, currently standing at over an estimated 70,000.

They work with other welfare organisations, veterinary centres, retailers and manufacturers to highlight areas for change, promote good practice and make plans for a better future for the welfare of rabbits in the UK.

~British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection~

For over 100 years the BUAV has been campaigning peacefully to create a world where nobody wants or believes we need to experiment on animals.

The BUAV is widely respected as an authority on animal testing issues and is frequently called upon by governments, media, corporations and official bodies for its advice or expert opinion.

They work lawfully and professionally, building relationships with MPs, MEPs, business leaders and other decision-makers. They also analyse legislation and sit on decision-making panels around the globe to act as the voice for animals in laboratories.

Their dedicated London-based team coordinates an international network of scientists, lawyers, campaigners, investigators, researchers, political lobbyists and supporters.
